Styling graphs and charts

I transformed complex datasets into clear, engaging visuals by identifying key narratives and developing creative concepts while ensuring accuracy. A key challenge was balancing compelling design with data integrity, making insights more accessible to a broad audience. I also refined and styled graphs to enhance clarity, readability, and brand alignment. Some tasks required simple refinements, while others involved experimenting with different chart styles to best convey the story. I enjoy the hands-on process of fine-tuning details to make data visually compelling and easy to understand.

Summary

Mission

To bring clarity and storytelling to data by designing visual narratives that are both informative and visually engaging. I set out to make complex datasets more approachable for wider audiences while respecting the nuances and integrity of the data. In this project, my goal was to communicate the potential economic impact of the AIMS Games in Tauranga to ANZ, transforming data into a clear story that could support meaningful decision-making.

My Contributions

I began by researching the AIMS Games and their local significance, drawing insights from online articles and datasets provided by Dot’s data scientists. From there, I led the visual development of the economic impact story—refining chart styles, shaping the narrative, and tailoring visuals to enhance clarity and engagement. My work spanned from polishing existing graphs to experimenting with new visual formats, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines while making complex insights easy to grasp.
